OLAOTAN AJOSE-ADEOGUN SAN & CO (The Rose Chambers) was founded by the present principal in chambers Mr Olaotan Ajose-Adeogun SAN, as a re- establishment of O Ajose-Adeogun & Co which dates back to 1961, as a full service Nigerian law firm distinguished by its premium service.

Our present location was opened in January 1991 while our Port Harcourt Branch was subsequently opened a few years later. It is our intention to open an office in Abuja in the very near future. This is a result of our belief that for us to provide better professional service to our clients at competitive pricing, we must get as close to them as possible.

Our Principal & his team

The present principal in chambers, Mr Olaotan Ajose-Adeogun SAN was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984. Following his call to the bar, he served as junior counsel in the chambers of Professor A. B. Kasunmu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). It was here that he was exposed to litigation practice and corporate law at the highest levels.

Mr Olaotan Ajose-Adeogun SAN worked for Professor Kasunmu (SAN) for a period of five and a half years. In his time at Professor Kasunmu’s chambers, a new foundation was laid for the re-engineering of the old firm O.Ajose Adeogun & Co. This exercise commenced in 1988 with the formal registration and change of the firm name to OLAOTAN AJOSE - ADEOGUN & CO (The Rose Chambers).

The original firm O.Ajose Adeogun & Co was established in 1961 by Mr Olatunji Ajose Adeogun who was called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) in 1952. On his arrival from England he practiced with the law firm Thomas, Williams and Kayode, after which he took up employment with the L.E.D.B, which is now the present-day Lagos State Development and Property Corporation. He remained in private legal practice until his elevation as a Judge of the High Court of Lagos State in 1975. In 1985 he was further elevated to the Court of Appeal from where he voluntarily retired in 1987.

Mr Olaotan Ajose-Adeogun SAN is a member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators England, a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, a member of the Lagos Court of Arbitration and a Notary Public for Nigeria having been so appointed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria in 1993. We also have present in chambers Mrs Duro-Emmanuel (formally Miss Ayo Ajose-Adeogun) called in 1978 and 5 junior counsel / solicitors working for the firm. The firm has support staff such as a chambers receptionist, chambers accountant, litigation clerk, cleaners & security. Mr Olaotan Ajose Adeogun SAN has over the past 36 years acquired vast experience in Corporate Law, Commercial practice including Law of Contract, Law of Real Property (Acquisition of Property), Banking and Insurance, Debt Recovery, Immigration Law, Labour Law including Industrial Disputes, Energy and Petroleum Law, Arbitration Law and Proceedings and General Litigation Practice.
